Following a quality skin care regime is key to keeping your skin looking fresh, vibrant, and youthful. Fortunately, there are many products on the market today you can incorporate into your morning and evening skincare routine, including toners, eye creams, moisturizers, cleansers, and so much more. But what about face masks?

Believe it or not, more and more people are beginning to incorporate face masks into their routines. No longer do you have to schedule a trip to a salon for a facial. Modern face masks are simple to apply and can be done from the comfort of your home. Additionally, many modern face masks are designed to target specific skin issues, from oily skin to acne-prone skin and everything in between.

Let’s take a look at some of the most popular face do-it-yourself face masks you can apply during your next Netflix binge.

Milk Masks

In addition to tasting good, milk is a great way to rejuvenate your skin. By mixing powdered milk and water into a thick paste, you’ll create a milk facial mask that can be applied morning or night. It will leave your face feeling fresh.

Vinegar Masks

Vinegar has been used in skin care routines since ancient times and remains an effective natural product. Turn it into an at-home beauty treatment by mixing apple cider vinegar with water to use as a toner or finishing rinse after removing a mask. Not only will it cleanse your skin, it will also help tighten it, so your skin can remain youthful and vibrant. You also can add a little apple cider vinegar to a variety of mask treatments.

Mustard Masks

Mild yellow mustard has long been used as a facial mask to help stimulate the skin. However, before putting it all over your face, test it out on a small area of skin first to ensure it won’t cause irritation.

Lemon Masks

Lemons are one of the most popular ingredients in homemade facial masks, and for good reason. Not only do lemon masks help moisturize the skin, but they act as a gentle exfoliant. Simple lemon masks can be created by mixing lemon juice with almond or olive oil.

Yogurt Masks

If you’re looking for a mask that will help tighten your pores while cleansing, then a yogurt facial mask is for you. All you need for this easy at home mask is some plain yogurt. Smear it on your face and let it set for 20 minutes before washing off. For a more indulgent, spa-like experience, mix some fresh-squeezed orange juice, orange pulp, and aloe into the yogurt before applying.

Egg Masks

If you’re looking for a truly spa-like experience, grab an egg from the refrigerator and make a facial mask from it. Start by separating the yolk from the white. For oily skin, add honey or lemon to the egg white and use the mixture as a facial mask. For normal to dry skin, apply the entire egg or only the beaten egg yolk and wait 30 minutes before rinsing off. No matter which egg concoction you use, you’ll enjoy a relaxing spa-like experience that will leave your face feeling rejuvenated and new.

These are only a few easy DIY facial masks that can safely be applied from the comfort of your home. These all-natural ingredients are gentle enough to use morning and night, depending on your preference, and are very affordable. Facial masks don’t have to break the bank. All it takes is a little planning and creativity.
